International Relations Students at President Univ Host Blue Economy Pioneer Seminar

  On Thursday, November 7, 2024, International Relations students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Education at President University (Presuniv) organized the Blue Economy Pioneer Seminar. Held in the Charles Himawan Auditorium, Building A, 5th Floor, at Presuniv’s campus in Kota Jababeka, Cikarang, the seminar focused on “Optimization of Marine Resources and Poverty Alleviation in the Kali Adem Region by Implementing the SDGs in a Global Context.” The seminar was arranged by students following a survey conducted with community members whose primary livelihoods depend on the sea, such as fishermen. The organizing team included Arief Rizki, Ilhami As’ad Nanda Perdana, and Patricia Gabriella Umbas from the 2019 cohort, Dwina Yabeztha Sinurat from 2020, as well as Andi Muhammad Nur Yasin Ar Thalib and Iqbal Fauzan Farah from 2021. President University Supports Student Mental Health through Music

    A university’s role is not only to educate and provide a place for students to learn, but also to support their mental health. This is precisely what President University (Presuniv) is doing through President University Lyrics Unplugged (PULU) with Paul Partohap: A Mini Concert Experience. The PULU event was held on Wednesday afternoon, November 6, 2024, in the Theater Room, President University Convention Center, Jl. H. Usmar Ismail, Kota Jababeka, Cikarang. Besides supporting mental health, Presuniv’s Rector Handa S. Abidin emphasized that playing or enjoying music can also balance students’ left- and right-brain abilities. This music activity, Handa explained, is also based on an internal survey conducted by Presuniv. “According to the survey results, 90% of students believe that listening to music, including attending concerts, positively impacts their mental health,” said Handa.   On Friday, October 25, 2024, President University (Presuniv) held a meeting with various alumni who are currently working in embassies, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).   On Friday, October 25, 2024, President University (Presuniv) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Colorado State University, USA. The signing ceremony took place in the Conference Room, Building A, at the Presuniv campus in Jababeka Education Park, Jl. Ki Hajar Dewantara, Cikarang, Bekasi.   Friday, October 25, 2024, Alfito Yuro Yudistiro, a student from the Management Study Program at the Faculty of Business, President University, has once again achieved success with the start-up company he built with his team, PT Tococo Indonesia Berkah. This time, he secured the 3rdRunner-Up award in the Food and Beverage category at the Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expo. This expo is the final event of the Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (P2MW) organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology at Halu Oleo University, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.     On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, the Faculty of Medicine at President University (Presuniv) participated as speakers in the health seminar GETAS, or the Movement to Overcome Stunting. The seminar, was held at the Charles Himawan Auditorium, 5th Floor of Building A, Presuniv Campus on Jl. Ki Hajar Dewantara, Jababeka City, Cikarang, focused on preventing stunting starting from pregnancy. Stunting is a condition experienced by children who suffer from chronic malnutrition. Efforts to prevent stunting need to cover the first 1,000 days of a fetus’ life, including while the baby is still in the mother’s womb. Stunting can also affect a child’s growth, making them more susceptible to illness with weakened immunity. This makes them more prone to diseases like diabetes and kidney failure. Jaya Iskandar, President University IT Student, Wins 2nd Place in Blockchain Hackathon in the United States

Jaya Iskandar, a 2022 Information Technology student from the Faculty of Computer Science, President University (Presuniv), and his team secured 2nd place in the TRON DAO Blockchain Hackathon at Columbia University, New York, United States (US). Jaya is a recipient of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) 2024 scholarship and is currently interning at Boston University (US). In this competition, Jaya and his team from Boston University, Russell Joarder and Karl Alfred Boma, introduced an innovative application called  Swap Squad , a decentralized marketplace platform. Architecture Students of President Univ Collaborate with Living Lab to Explore Tourism Potential of Kampung Kunir

  On Saturday, 12 October 2024, students from the Architecture Program at the Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture (FADA), President University (Presuniv), collaborated with Living Lab at Kampung Kollektief, Kampung Kunir Community, and Nuffic Sea. This activity, supported by Hadi Jaya, the coordinator of the Urban Architecture class, involved 60 students. They observed and analyzed the tourism potential of Kampung Kunir using Kevin Lynch’s urban theories. The students were accompanied by Selly Veronica, Head of the Architecture Program and also the Head of the Center of Innovative Design and Collaborative Support (CIDECS), Presuniv.
