Setsail BizAccel and International Relations Study Program, President University, Hold Sharing Session with Jonathan Davy, Co-Founder and CEO of Ecoxyztem
On Thursday, 17 October 2024, the International Relations Study Program of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Education, President University (Presuniv), in collaboration with Setsail BizAccel, a business incubator, organized a Sharing Sessions of International Relations Alumni featuring Jonathan Davy, Co-Founder and CEO of Ecoxyztem. The event was held at the Fabrication Laboratory (Fablab), President University Convention Center (PUCC), Jl. H. Usmar Ismail, Kota Jababeka, Cikarang, and focused on Jonathan’s experience in starting a business with his partners. Jonathan is an alumnus of the International Relations Program, class of 2011.
Dr. Mohammad Syafi’i Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Education expressed President University’s strong support for students who aspire to develop entrepreneurial skills and have the courage to start their own businesses. “One of the career paths offered by Presuniv is entrepreneurship, as Jonathan has pursued,” he emphasized. Meanwhile, Dr. Jeanne Francoise, Head of the International Relations Program, hoped that Jonathan’s presence would have a positive impact on all students. “I hope Jonathan’s presence will inspire students,” she remarked.
In his presentation, Jonathan shared that he originally wanted to become a diplomat. However, his dream was halted as there was a two-year moratorium on diplomat recruitment when he graduated from Presuniv. This situation forced him to change direction. Together with his friends, he decided to start his own business, leading to the establishment of Ecoxyztem.
Jonathan emphasized the importance of self-exploration during college. “Try to find out what you are passionate about. Once you find it, keep exploring. From there, you might discover and eventually create your own business,” Jonathan advised.
Ruhmaya Wathoni, B.BA, M.Sc., Director of Setsail BizAccel Presuniv and moderator of the event, agreed with Jonathan’s view. She added, “Starting your own business is not easy, but at Presuniv, we have various facilities to help students build their businesses. Setsail BizAccel is ready to assist students in starting their ventures.” (Graciella V, PR Team. Photo: Graciella V.)
